Humphrey again

Hi everyone

This is a card I will be sending to a very good friend of mine who lives in Suffolk as her birthday is later this week.  I haven't seen her for quite a long time but as with all friends we don't see often we never forget them do we.

The image is Humphrey again as I love this little chap.  The papers are mostly from Pink Petticoat and the rest are from my stash.  The greeting is from Lili of the Valley and the leafy swirl is a Marianne Creatables die.  The border was made using a Spellbinders die. I would have said green was not one of my favourite colours but when I checked my wardrobe there is more in there than I thought, so it must be.

If you fancy a challenge there are lots of crafting goodies up for grabs at Purple Butterfly Crafts who are holding their very first blog challenge so check it out.

Bye for now.

Sof's card

Hi again

I made this card for a special friend on her 30th birthday.  I used an 8 x 8 scalloped card from Craft UK and the papers were all from Pink Petticoat.  The die is a Marianne Creatables (I think), the greeting is from Lili of the Valley and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I also used a Martha Stewart border punch.  The image was coloured using Copics and the ribbon was from my stash.

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge Anything Goes.

See you soon

Tilda in the Pink

Hello again

Before making a long overdue start on my Christmas cards I decided to have a go at the CLP Sketch Challenge No.41 and using the sketch provided I put together this 6 x 6 card.  The base card is smaller than I have been using recently but I was fairly happy with the result.  I have used one of my favourite Magnolia Stamps for the main image and the papers are by Fizzy Moon.  The flower is a Magnolia die and the swirl is a Marianne Creatables die.  Sometimes it is nice to just make a card that is not for a particular person when you have had to make a lot of birthday cards for friends and family.  I have had several birthdays over the past two months and so my time has been taken up with making birthday cards with special people in mind.  I have to make another card this evening for a very special friend who will be 30 years of age on Tuesday.  So back to the grindstone!!!

See you soon.

A card for 105 years

Hello again

I was recently asked to make a card for a gentleman who would be 105 years of age at the beginning of November and after a great deal of thought and several prototypes this finally was the finished article!     I do not know the gentleman personally and I could not help but wonder what must it be like to have lived for so long, and have so many memories.  I hope he likes the card and that he has a lovely day.

Off now to make a few more cards.

Not long to Halloween

Hi everyone

Not been around much recently due to work commitments but hopefully back on track now.  This card has a Halloween flavour to it but I think I could use it for anyone I wish a 'Magical Birthday'.  I am entering this in the Papertake Weekly Challenge.

The papers are from Pink Petticoat and I have used two stamps from Lili of the Valley plus the Martha Stewart branches punch.  I have coloured the image with copics and embellished finally with Card Candy.

Hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Ian

I have made this card for my son Ian's birthday today - Happy Birthday Ian.  I just love the Humphrey's Corner images, they are so easy to colour with Copics or ProMarkers.  The background  paper I used is from my stash and I have no idea when or where I bought it but I felt it was ideal for a masculine card.  I couldn't resist this stamp and couldn't wait to use it and now I can't wait for the new Christmas images being released tomorrow.

Card Made by Olivia

This card was made by my other 'Crafting Fairy' Olivia for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge when she was also asked to join the Children's Design Team. Olivia is 9 years of age and loves all papercrafts, she designed this card herself and the best part for her was being 'allowed' to use my photoglue!!! She loves Tilda so this challenge was right up her street.!!!

Ella's Card

Hi there, this is a card that my Granddaughter Ella made for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge when she was asked to be part of the Children's Design Team. Ella is only 7 years old but made this card herself and she must have been listening when we were using the ProMarkers recently at a 'craft with Gran' session, when I was trying to explain about shading. She picked the papers herself from my stash which were from one of the many magazines I have at home and apart from one or two finger smudges I think she did a brill job but then I am biased!!!!.

Time For Tea

Good morning and a better one it seems to be. Please, please no more rain!!! This card I have made for the latest Lili of the Valley Challenge. The card is again an 8" x 8" scalloped square card (still my favourite) and I have added to this papers from My Craft Studio Tattered Lace CD (both papers are the same but I changed the colour for the pink sheet). The image is one of the Lili of the Valley toppers but I have changed the colours slightly with ProMarkers to meet the challenge. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the pearls. The scalloped layers were made using a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and these were added to a mat created with a Martha Stewart Around The Page Punch. I think that is everything covered so I am off now to get myself organised for work. See you soon.

Pink and Purple Tilda

Hello there, I've just rushed to finish this card as I wanted to enter it into the Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar Challenge. I have used one of the 8" x 8" scalloped cards and added papers from Pink Petticoat which I have edged with pastel pink cardstock. The image is one of my favourites from Magnolia which I have coloured using the following Copics:

E21, E00, E0000, RV21 for the skin
E35 and E31 for the hair
BV13 and BV000 for the dress and shoes
RV21 for her socks

The swirl has been created on the Cricut. The pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I have coloured them purple with a ProMarker pen. The panels have been created using two Cuttlebug dies and the flower is the Magnolia Doiley Flower Die with a small brad inserted into the centre topped with a pearl.

See you soon.

Magnolia

Hello again, I have just returned from holiday so it has been sometime since I last posted a card but this is the one I sent to my daughter's friends who were recently getting married in Greece. The image I used is from Lili of the Valley and since it was a topper and there was no need to add colour I simply sprinkled with ultra fine glitter in the appropriate areas. The papers I used are from Pink Petticoat, the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. I added some Card Candy from Craftwork Cards and a few gems to finish it off. I hope you like it.

Tilda in pink

This is my first card using the lovely Tilda with Hawaiian Flower stamp. I love this stamp and have to say it is my current favourite. I coloured the lovely Tilda with Copics but I'm sorry to say I did not write down the colours used. The papers are from Pink Petticoat and the heart lace trim is a Martha Stewart Border Punch. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the lilac swirl is a Creatables die. I'm not sure where I bought the charm as I have had it quite some time.

Hope you like it!

Here Comes Summer

Hi there

It seems ages since I last posted a card (it is only a week but seems longer). This is the card I have made for my mum's 86th birthday tomorrow. I made it using a decoupage sheet and papers from the Popcorn the Bear Triple CD from Crafters Companion. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the swirl was created on the Cricut. I have also used a createables die for the flower and the decoupage was mounted onto a Nestabilities die cut. The ribbon was coloured to match using ProMarkers.

I am entering this card in the Crafter's Companion Here Comes Summer Challenge.

Almost all white

Good evening

What an awful day today - did it stop raining at all? A good reason to craft all day since I can't feel guilty about not helping out in the garden.

The above card was made using one of my favourite Lily of The Valley Stamps with just a hint of colour. I used several different embossing folders and then cut the embossed papers into sections and placed them on a piece of white card. Next I wrapped ribbon to cover the joins and glued this to an 8 x 8 scalloped card base. I then punched out 24 floral shapes with my EK Success Punch and scrunched them up to distress them, created three flowers and held them together with white brads. A swirl was added that had been cut on the Cricut and one of the Magnolia Doiley Flowers with a bow attached. Glitter was added to finish off.

Magnolia card

Welcome to my very first post. A good friend persuaded me to have a go at creating a blog and to enter some of the crafting challenges that appear to be extremely popular at the moment, because they are great fun - so here we go. I hope you will enjoy seeing some of my efforts and that you will return regularly to see what I have been up to otherwise I will end up talking to myself!!! Please leave comments if you wish as I would love to know what you think.

I am entering the above card in the Just Magnolia and hAnglar sTanglar Challenge.

I coloured the Magnolia image with Copics in the following colours:

Skin E21, E00, E000 and R20

Hair E53, E51 and E50

Dress B05, B04 and BG01

Trousers BG49, BG15 and BG10

Parcel RV04 and RV02

Then I added lots of glitter.

The solid colour papers are from Pink Petticoat and the patterned one is from My Craft Studio Tattered Lace CD.

The sentiment Stamp is from Lily of The Valley.

I gathered up some old lace I had in my stash and adorned it with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Hope you like it!

I am off now to do some blog hopping. See you soon. x
